About Me

I’m Sean Hess, owner, broker, and author. I’m the Artisan-in-Chief here, and it’s my job to ensure the company delivers reliability, consistency, and peace of mind to our customers and clients. For that reason I’m a great choice for out of state and out of area owners who want to sell their condo or second home.

Volunteer Work and Philanthropy

I take a great deal of pride in working as a volunteer locally and giving back through donations to charitable organizations with every sale:

  • Youth soccer coach, Ancient City Soccer 2014-Present. I hold the US Soccer Federation F and E licenses,  and 11 x 11 coaching certification. I am slated for the US Soccer Federation license D (currently pending approval).
  • Big Brother 2002-Present.
  • Advisory Board and Former Chair, Big Brothers / Big Sisters of St. Johns County, 2005-2013.
  • Since 2005 I’ve donated a portion of my gross commission to charity, and I make a donation to a tree planting or habitat restoring organization with every sale (below this section see a thank you from one of my most recent donations).


I have a B.A. in Journalism from The Ohio State University.

As a Realtor I have taken numerous continuing education and sales courses through the National Association of Realtors, Florida Realtors, the Florida Real Estate Institute, the Bert Rodgers Institute, Ramit Sethi, Mark Leader Sales Courses, JTS Coaching Advisors, and Integrity Coaching Systems.


I am happily married with two wonderful children.

I used to race mountain bikes, and competed in nine USA Cycling National Mountain Bike Championship races as a cat-2 between 2006-2013 in XC and Super D (Sonoma, Mt. Snow, Granby, Sun Valley, and Bear Mountain). I’ve also raced in such notables as the East Coast Nationals, Sugar Mountain Nationals, US Cup, Swank 65, Couch Potato, Bump N Grind, and in the Citizen’s Race at the 2015 World Cup (Windham). I had a GC podium for SERC in 2011, and top 10 GCs in 2009 & 2010. I was coached by Josh Drake and Tristan Cowie at Charmical Training Systems (CTS).

From 1989 to 1994 I worked as a full-time reporter, and then part-time as a correspondent and stringer for the St. Augustine Record and Florida Times-Union (2002-2015). It was in these places that I honed my photographic, graphic, editorial, and copywriting skills. I retired from reporting in 2015.
